Dear Reader,
Thank you for stopping by my website. My name is Justin Fousek, and I am a systems administrator at the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Bioinformatics Core. I work on a great team of four people who, together, manage the information technology (IT) services for more than seventy cancer centered labs at the university. My roles include managing NFS and CIFS storage services, physical Dell and HP servers, a sixty plus server SLURM computing cluster, VMware VCF and KVM environments, RHEL and Rocky Linux 7, 8, and 9 operating systems, and many custom software applications and services that I have installed and configured over the years.
I believe society suggests that we should always introduce ourselves by stating who we are and what we do for work, but there is so much more to people than their jobs. I hope this website allows you to understand me more holistically as a person. I originally created this website as a coding exercise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but it has evolved into my pet project for website hardening on the server backend, an outlet for my creative works such as photography, Excel spreadsheets, and other coding projects, and a way to make my presence more known in the world.
If you would like to connect with me, please use my social media links that are listed in the menu bar or utilize my information in the contact page. I am not very active on social media, but I do follow many people to get updates on their lives. Give me a follow, and I will follow back.
I will update this letter as I grow in my life, but thank you for reading it, and I hope you enjoy my website.
Sincerely,
Justin D. Fousek
